Expressing our faith in love to all

All Are Welcome

Lord of Love is a church for all believers in Christ. All are welcome regardless of age, disability, gender, nationality, race, religious background, sexual identity, or socioeconomic status.

Come for a visit. You will find members and friends who have come from many different backgrounds to find a home at Lord of Love. We are challenged to live out Christ’s words in John 13:35, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

We welcome all to join us on our journey of faith. Come and experience the saving, life changing, and healing community of Lord of Love Lutheran Church.

Lord of Love is a Reconciling in Christ Congregation. In relationships built through outreach and education, ReconcilingWorks shares Christ's message, the Gospel, which is for everyone equally. Since 1974, ReconcilingWorks: Lutherans for Full Participation has advocated for the full welcome, inclusion, and equity of lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender (LGBT) Lutherans in all aspects of the life of their Church, congregations, and community. Expressing Our Faith

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We invite you to participate in the mission of Lord of Love, "Expressing our faith in love to all.” We take the banner of the ELCA "Making Christ Known" and seek to have others know the richness of a life with Christ.

Our worship is a little noisier than some; it is an expression of where Christ has brought us from to where we are today. Our worship attire is “what makes you comfortable” from blue jeans to suits. It is a reflection of our members, as we come from different backgrounds, to find a home at LOL where we are comfortable and yet challenged. We are challenged to live out Christ’s words in John 13.35: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

"I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."  -John 13:34-35

What We Believe

We believe that God loves us and calls us to be a church; a people created by God in Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, called and sent to bear witness to God’s creative, redeeming, and sanctifying activity in the world.

We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God. It tells the story of God’s relationship to the people of God and shares the story of how God expresses love toward us by intervening on our behalf through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We believe that by God’s grace alone we are saved, by no power of ourselves, we are transformed to a new life. Our sins are forgiven by the proclamation of the Good News of Christ and by the administration of the sacraments of Baptism and Communion.

We believe that God is one in Trinity: God the Father, creator of all things; God the Son, Jesus Christ who became incarnate in human flesh in order to carry out the divine mission of reconciliation; and God the Holy Spirit, who works to continue the act of restoring us to a right relationship with God, one another, and all of God’s creation.

We believe that God calls us as instruments of love to express our faith in love to all; of restoration seeking to heal broken relationships and broken people; of creativity to intentionally explore ways to serve God and others.

We believe that God calls us to welcome others to our community of faith, to be examples by being faithful disciples, to share our stories to testify to what God has done in our lives, and to worship God to let others know how good God is.
